Who are we?
Eternal Darkness is first and foremost an online roleplaying community. The venues offered are : Vampire, Werewolf, Changeling, Mortal and Mage. The site is 'open' meaning that all systems are allowed to interact with one another responsibly. Responsible being the key word. Remember that each system has built in antagonists so there's no need to troll the boards looking for something to get into.
The site was born on November 10, 2009. Version 1.0 went live on December 18, 2009. Presently, there's one person acting as staff : me. Because of this, there's very little Administrative force pressed upon players. Each system as at the very least one character class that's instant playable. If you're the sort of player who needs a heavy hand from staff then ED may not be the site for you - at least not this soon in it's existence.
What systems are allowed in the old World of Darkness game?
Currently, we offer old World of Darkness gaming and the core systems offered within that. New World of Darkness may be offered separately in the future should interest arise.
Who runs this joint?
Essentially, this was a 'place holder' for my purchased copy of Jove from a few years back. With the current lack of options in the role-playing community and the fact that Elsewhere has been overrun with Bots, I've decided to open up this site for general RP. Yes, there are rules, but essentially you the players run this place. While the site traffic is minimal, I will handle the approvals, though I won't likely have the time to play as much as I'd like. The players are the storytellers here - this is key to making this site function smoothly. If players sit around waiting on a staff member to run a scene rather than simply logging into the chat and luring in other players, this site will sit and collect dust. If traffic increases, the players can nominate individuals for an official 'staff' position. No one gets brought on as staff without a majority of the community's vote, however.
In the end, this site will become whatever you the players make of it. If you have no interest in a more open forum for role-playing then this site will sit empty. If it takes off and gathers a following, it'll flourish. I am hoping for the latter, but refuse to force this option down anyone's throat.
